Fisher Price Kid Tough FP3 Song & Story Player - Blue I bought this for my son about four years ago, and both of us love it so much that when he finally managed to break it (3 1/2 years and countless drops from the top bunk later) I found and purchased another.
It's much easier for little fingers to use than an iPod (or other mp3 player), and being able to identify the songs (both by title and an accompanying picture) is a huge advantage over the other kid-friendly music players I've investigated. Though there is an fp3 on-line store, I've only uploaded music from CDs, and this is a very easy process.
I would highly recommend also purchasing the dock for it (though my teenaged daughter is less than thrilled with constantly listening to The Wiggles:); this makes it into a mini, kid-friendly "boom box".

Very displeased with this product. Very hard on batteries. It started to skip only after it was 2 mths old. My granddaughter became very frustrated with her fp3. You are better off to purchase a cheap sandisk mp3.
