Marvel Legends Series 14 > Luke Cage Action Figure Here we have another build a figure series from Marvel Legends. Luke Cage, Hero for Hire. This is one bad dude who's tough as nails due to his impenetrable skin and takes guff from no one. How does his action figure fair?
I'm happy to report that this figure is great. First of all his sculpt is spot on Luke Cage. The body sculpt is done well with the right amount of muscle tone and his face has the perfect amount of determination and toughness to it. He looks like he's ready to kick some butt. His trademark fat link chain belt looks great. The paint is visually interesting enough and solid with no slop. He is well articulated and can be placed in butt kicking poses easily.
He comes with his comic, the back of the package doubles as a back drop and one half of the spider base of Mojo. Mojo himself is a mix of good and bad. The paint and sculpt on his body is great with spot on skin tones and the electronics coming out of his head look great. His spider base, however, is very plain and lacks much of the detail you'll see pictured on the back of the package and has a very bland and featureless paint job. It also lacks any real articulation other than the legs being able to turn right where they connect to the base. Maybe this was to help it stand better, but here's the rub... Only four of the six legs are actually designed to touch the floor and due to their thin spidery nature they begin to bend under Mojo's excessive flab. I'm sure some ingenuity on my part can correct the problem, but we really shouldn't have to fix new figures now should we. It's a mixed bag on the Mojo.

Disney Pixar Toy Story Talking Woody & Free Wheel RC Buggy My 4 year old daughter believes this is a present from Santa.
She loves Toy Story and enjoy playing with both Woody and Buggy. She plays like boys do, but so far, none of the parts are missing, nor broken. (You need to put a rubber band to keep the cowboy hat stay on top of Woddy's head.)
The buggy is not operated by remote controller, but my daughter doesn't seem to care about it at all. Mommy loves this very much, because they don't require batteries. Mommy also appreciates that the Woody talks but it's not annoying at all.
I would recommend this toy for all Toy Story lovers of age 4 and above. :-)

Fisher Price Kid Tough FP3 Song & Story Player - Blue I bought this for my son about four years ago, and both of us love it so much that when he finally managed to break it (3 1/2 years and countless drops from the top bunk later) I found and purchased another.
It's much easier for little fingers to use than an iPod (or other mp3 player), and being able to identify the songs (both by title and an accompanying picture) is a huge advantage over the other kid-friendly music players I've investigated. Though there is an fp3 on-line store, I've only uploaded music from CDs, and this is a very easy process.
I would highly recommend also purchasing the dock for it (though my teenaged daughter is less than thrilled with constantly listening to The Wiggles:); this makes it into a mini, kid-friendly "boom box".

LEGO brand Toy Story Woody and Buzz Rescue (7590) My son got this for his 4th birthday and was so excited to build it! He Loves Legos (has all the Pirates and Fire trucks) and also LOVES Toy Story! he is pretty good at building with Legos and only needs some help with instructions but he was able to build this pretty easily with my help... and he's only 4!! (this set is rated for ages 6-12 - I'd say it's fine for ages 4-8).
The best thing about this vehicle is that it has spring-loaded wheels so when you pull back the car on the floor or table, it runs forward by itself! It also comes with a mini figure Buzz and Woody so they can go for a ride ("fast, just like the movie", says my son!)
The parts are very colorful (in the standard Toy Story colors - lime green, purple, blue, white) and there are a lot of small parts, but nothing a preschooler can't handle (not good for the under 3 crowd if they still put things in their mouth though). Once built, it is pretty stable, although the Buzz and rocket tend to fly off if not attached well.
Overall, we rate this set "Really Cool" and at less than , a great gift, especially now with all the excitement from the movie.
